In the early 30s, in Campodarsego, Italy, Carraro was founded thanks to the natural evolution of an intuition: find solution to improve the quality of life and work of those who operate every day in agriculture. Therefore, the company created the first self-propelled seeder .
It was in the 1950s that the company ventured into the farm tractor market with the production in 1958 of the first "Tre Cavallini" branded tractor. Precisely during this period the company has undergone a transformation thanks to the entrepreneurial spirit of Mario Carraro, who will guide the Group from now on. The markets development determines a rapid technological evolution of Carraro tractors, that quickly took on an advanced configuration and became all-wheel drive.
Carraro S.p.A. of Campodarsego (PD) transfers the production of tractors and agricultural machines to Rovigo, to concentrate on the new core business: integrated drive systems for agricultural and earth-moving machines. So Agritalia was founded.
Agritalia evolves: from agricultural machines – seeders, tilling machines and harrows – it converts to the production of tractors marketed with the historical Carraro three-horse trademark, after Carraro S.p.A. withdrew completely from the process.
In 1989 the assembly of agricultural drivelines for special tractors, strategically crucial components for Agritalia production, is transferred to Rovigo. The following year the Carraro Agri-X tractor was born. In the following years Agritalia grows in size and capacity; the facility is renewed and the logistics and production flows are adjusted to the needed to increase the volumes. Two other models have been produced before the current Agricube. In 1996 the Agri-up tractor was born. The AgriPlus model, however, dates back to 2005.
The new Carraro tractor is relaunched with a new brand, Agricube series, available today in the six configurations: Orchard, Wide Orchard, Low Orchard, Vineyard, Large Vineyard and Wide Low Vineyard. Technology is new and the design is totally renewed.
The Oscar Carraro Tractor Museum, which exhibits some products that symbolically marked the company in the 60s and 70s, is born.
Alongside the well-established Agricube range, Carraro Tractors is now strengthens its presence on the special tractors market with the introduction of the new K range of compact, streamlined models.
Launch of the new range of Carraro Agricube tractors with Stage IIIB engine. The new engine is not the only innovation, the new series is renewed in design: more modern look, warmer grey tone, graphics that streamline the structure of the bonnet and tricolor band to make even more evident the "Made in Italy" excellence. In addition, thanks to direct contacts with end users of agricultural vehicles, Carraro has developed new product solutions and variants meeting the different end users needs in various working environments.
Carraro Tractors revolutionises the specialised sector introducing the new Compact and Ibrido models. On the one hand, Carraro Compact models (V and VLB) that, with a structure that is ideal for use in very narrow rows and for working inside cultivation tents or under pergolas, that satisfies a requirement that until now has remained unexplored within the specialised sector. On the other, Carraro Ibrido that was created to respond to the needs of a market where demand for machines fitted with engines that slash both emissions and fuel consumption is on the rise. An eco-frendly solution that meets environmental sustainability and at the same time improves the efficiency and productivity of the tractor. EIMA 2018 was the perfect showcase event for presenting key new developments in this sector!
